The Romper

I am hesitantly promoting the romper. By the time these started to enter my style consciousness last summer I was skeptical, and since they were really only showing terry-cloth versions in stores I have access to (aka cheap department stores) they seemed a bit too 'hood for my taste.
But now I'm seeing an amazing array of rompers out in my fashion resources from casual styles, to retro versions to sexy options and I think I'm interested. A romper could be a cute addition to my wardrobe. It has the ease of a dress, the edge of something still wavering on the outskirts of popular fashion, it has to be comfortable and it's a blank canvas that could be tons of fun to accessorize.
My one issue is how a romper would translate from a model's body to the real world. Sure it looks great on them but I'm nervous that it would be unflattering to curves; hug and bunch in the wrong places and generally look lumpy.
Due to lack of funds, I haven't been shopping in awhile so I've yet to see if these cooler versions have made their way down to my kind of stores and therefore give me a chance to try one on for size. Don't worry, when the time comes, I will keep you posted.
